Lily hugged him back gently and nodded, understanding how he felt. Something similar happened to her own friendship with Marcus. Before he left, they couldn’t even look each other in the eyes. It was a horrible feeling, knowing that something that didn’t have to happen ruined something that you loved so much. If only Marcus hadn’t kissed her, everything could have just stayed the way it was. “I know what that’s like,” she told him, frowning.

Donovan frowned. He used his pointer finger to lift her chin up. “You don’t realize how truly special you are,” He said. He leaned in to kiss her, then once their lips touched he jerked back. “I- I’m so sorry. I have no idea what got into me…” He said, turning away from her.
